…getting back to it. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I want to spend my minutes. For so long I have forced everything I possibly can to fit into my life. With all this effort I have found that I am still not in a place of happiness. I can’t quite fit creativity in as much as I would like. I can’t quite see my friends as much as I would like. I can’t quite exercise as much as I would like. So it is time to get back to it. A big reason I started this blog was to keep in the forefront of my mind the things that I was inspired by and tracking those inspirations into actions. So here we go. World here I come.
…hand lettering. Something about letters and words have always held magic for me. I love prints of inspiring quotes and feel inspired to make a couple of my own. I recently discovered a little clubhouse called Makeshift Society. I haven’t yet visited, but there is a calligraphy class coming up that I am drooling over.
…speaking of which, I’m dreaming of becoming a member of Makeshift Society. Being surrounded by creative minds in a creative environment… sign me up.
…random acts of kindness. As of late I have been inspired to do kind things for others, for strangers, for whoever. When I was in college I went to a animated film festival and watched a cartoon of a person getting upset and kicking a dog. The dog then goes and angrily bites a cat. The cat, angry as you can imagine, goes and scratches at a bird. Continuing the trend, the bird then goes and upsets the next living thing. If I remember correctly the original person who kicked the dog comes to some karmic end. I have never forgotten that idea that negativity can spread like a virus. More importantly I have carried with me that kindness can do the same thing. Let’s spread the love.
