Given my love for all things handcrafted, home grown, and awesome, it is no surprise that the SF Renegade craft fair had been marked on my calendar for quite some time. So we went, but started with breakfast because really, is there any other way?
{Circa}
In my imagination, we would find a brunch spot in a warehouse-looking building near Fort Mason, locally roasted coffee, scones hot out of the oven, and light streaming through windows. When we wandered into Circa, I realized that that brunch would have to happen on another day, because this was a breakfast place where you might find yourself getting down on the dance floor.

The lights were low, chandeliers adorned the ceiling, and the lyrical stylings of the Fresh Prince and Eminem welcomed us as we walked in. It was awesome. My cuz and I knew all the words to our old-school favorites and sang along as we got down on some pretty good brunch fair. The huevos rancheros and warm cornbread were the highlights. The unending carafes of mimosa were also a fun addition, despite the fact that I stuck to straight OJ for the sake of the bump.

From brunch we made our way to Fort Mason. I love Fort Mason as a summer venue for Renegade. You walk up and see the water and red roofs. The warehouse beams and giant windows are a great backdrop for all the beautiful things that fill the space.

Kate and I wandered around, shopping and chatting. Some of my favorites were:
Kira, for baby stuff. Although I refrained from purchasing anything that day, I won’t be able to resist this onsie for long.
Cotton & Flax has been a long time favorite of mine. The patterns and colors are lovely. I walked away with coasters similar to these.
Betsy & Iya had incredible jewelry! The ladies their were so much fun to chat with and Kate snagged some gorgeous pieces! I am still pining after this necklace. Someday soon…. You have to check out their about page. It love their video!
Inna Jam = the best stuff ever. I bought three and still wanted more. I’ll be adding the apricot and blackberry to plain yogurt for breakfast and getting down on some grilled cheese with the pink lady apple! Delish!
Sire’s Crown Eyewear had me smitten with these wood framed glasses that could actually bend without snapping, pretty impressive stuff.

Nothing like a sweet quote to set the stage of a rehearsal dinner. I helped put these lovely little honey bee party favors together for Nick and Sharilyn. We were able to a some local flare with the help of my mom-in-law, Debbie’s, neighbor who has his own backyard honey bees. With the cutest weck jars available and a couple sweet labels, these were the perfect way to prepare guests for the nuptials scheduled for the next day.
Materials: 2.7 ounce Weck jars, honey, 1.5 inch circle labels
We put together a garden themed dinner. Debbie and Dan throw a beautiful backyard soiree, with parachute over head and flowers everywhere. I loved the idea of going with a honeybee theme. Honeycomb pattern, yellow and black striped straws, and a sweet treat for the guests to take home with them.
The rehearsal dinner was beautiful and filled with thoughtful details. Nothing less than would be expected from the incredible Smyth hosts. Add a little sweetness to your next occasion with your own honey bee party favors.
