{this month’s magic} june 2013

by Lila on July 1, 2013

MsGrayLDJune was a crazy, exciting, jam-packed month. It was one of those months that makes you laugh and makes you cry.

…the last days spent with my students. Saying goodbye was really hard, but every moment of those last couple weeks were filled with sweet memories. My favorite part of being a teacher was the relationships I formed with each student and it was by far the hardest thing to let go of.

…being the featured designer at The Rare Bird. It was such a fun evening of connecting to other local artists and showing the community what I have been up to. Thank you so much to all of you who came out and supported me. Having you there meant more than you know.

…finally painting Jeff’s dresser. He has had it since he was a little guy and it was so fun to give it some new life. My mother-in-law introduced me to Annie Sloan chalk paint and I may have formed a new addiction…

…making videos of my nephew. While rolling down the coast to Santa Cruz, Gavin was showing us all the animals noises he likes to make. He loved it when I started recording him and showing him the videos. He mimicked himself as he watched. Basically the cutest thing ever.

…reconnecting with dear friends at weddings all over. Nothing like chatting with the people who knew you when you were still figuring out who you wanted to become.
