{inspired} diy shelving

ShelfBeautifulMess{A Beautiful Mess}

I’d like to put new shelving in our living room. Two IKEA shelves that I found for the crazy deal of 29.99 a piece currently adorn the largest wall of the room. You can see how I styled them after our move here. I bought them for our first apartment seven year ago and am ready for a change. I’ve always loved a cross between industrial/modern and warm/cozy. What I would like to do is create a more creative shelving unit for our the large library of books we have accumulated over the years.  I am on a mission to gradually replace pieces that me and the mister purchased out of convenience with items that better reflect our style. So I turned to my trusty pinterest board for ideas that I could potentially build myself.

Using pipe to frame the shelves immediately lends itself to an industrial vibe. I love the look and according to these bloggers, both units cost around $200, which makes it an attainable possibility. Got to love it when you can buy all your materials at Home Depot!

I have the same record player as featured in the photo below. I’ve had my eye on this lovely little diy for awhile now. Gotta love a good location to keep your records safe and sound.

Any diys that you can’t stop thinking about? I would love to hear about them!

I love the mix of industrial and rustic. The brick house was one of the first blogs I ever read, and I’ve been loving those shelves ever since. :)

Thanks Kate! I love The Brick House too. I have the perfect wall just waiting for those shelves.
