June 15, 2014: Firsts are kind of momentous. This was Jeff’s first Father’s Day with his little guy. We went to one of our favorite spots, Trouble Coffee, and took a brief walk before Grayson started rubbing his eyes and yawning. Watching these two interact makes my heart swell a little bit. Such a good dad, such a sweet boy.

When deciding what to wear to a baby shower I think it is all about comfort and simplicity. What better way to accomplish that than using a maxi dress as a skirt. A piece already in your closet gets a whole new look and life! Plus, no last minute shopping. Since most of the outfit is gray and black, a pop of green from the shoes and necklace liven it up a bit. Tying a knot in the cotton tee gives you your waist back (thanks for the tip cuz!).
Sakura Haru designed the necklace that I am a little in love with. The tee is a favorite from Target! You can find similar shoes and dress here and here.

June 6, 2014: His smile has been lighting up my life. He laughs more than he ever has before. He sucks his bottom lip. And I think we might be starting to figure out the whole sleep thing. Don’t want to speak too soon, but fingers crossed.

This breakfast sandwich is a show stopper and the main course for the Baby Sprinkle. It is delicious. Combining savory and sweet, it gets a party started off right.vJoining this sandwich will be bagels, with sprinkles of course, a parfait bar, coffee bar, doughnut holes, and incredible cookies from Decorated by Cami as our party favor.

May 29, 2014: He has a new trick, he can sit up on his own now. When the morning arrives and I hear his little voice calling to get up, it is the hardest thing to yank myself out of sweet sleep. But then I see his smiling face and it all seems worth it. Our morning moments are some of my favorite; making breakfast in the kitchen, feeding the chickens, he is so full of joy and life.

Nothing like a little DIY in your life when it comes to party decor. When deciding on the centerpieces for the lovely baby sprinkle I was hosting, I envisioned clusters of gold, dip-dyed jars. I am really into the whole metallic thing right now. Picture me in my kitchen, fishing through cabinets, deciding what prettily-packaged foods I could finish off quickly and steal the jar.
To make your own, follow the steps below.
STEP 1: Collect materials
In this case: jars, gold paint that can be used on glass, tape, and sponge brushes.
STEP 2: Tape jars
Tape the jars where you want your line to be. I wanted them to be asymmetrical, so I forced my tape into a curve. Be sure you have a smooth continuous line when finished.
STEP 3: Paint jars
What I found worked best was to apply a heavy layer of paint. After a moment the paint settles and the brush marks disappear.
STEP 4: Let the paint settle
Allow the heavy coat of paint to drip down over the tape, leaving a nice even finish on the jar. The trick is to not put so much paint that it keeps dripping past the tape. If you do apply too much, don’t worry, you can simply wipe it off with a paper towel before it dries.
STEP 5: Remove the tape
Pull off the tape carefully while the paint is still a little wet and set the jar back down to fully dry. This allows for a nice clean edge, that almost looks like you might have actually dip dyed these jars.
STEP 6: Fill with flowers
Once the jars are dry they are ready to be filled with water and flowers. Clustered together they make for a beautiful centerpiece. For the baby shower I plan to use them with all white flowers. Can’t wait to share!

May 11, 2014: Walks through the city is one of our favorite family activities. One hike we love winds through the Sutro Reserve and then spits out into Cole Valley where you can grab lunch or coffee. It is amazing to feel in the middle of the city that you are far away. Grayson loves to stare at the trees and we chat with him about photosynthesis and weather cycles. What better topic to discuss with your 5 and a half month baby boy.

When someone has their first baby there is a shower. When someone has their second baby it is fun to have a sprinkle. My invite design was inspired by the dual meaning of sprinkle, dots imitating colorful specks of sugar. At the bottom of this post you will find a printable version where you can fill in your own information for your own dear one having their second bambino.
Paper Source is my guilty pleasure. I love everything there and have become addicted to their paper. They have a couple new colors, one of which is mint. I feel like they know me so well.
Deets:
I used multiple circle punches to create gold and mint confetti that I stuffed into the envelope with the invite, following in the sprinkle theme. My plan is to have this confetti featured as part of the table settings as well. Just wait, it’s gonna be cute!
We included an insert to let guests know that gifts were not necessary. However we did ask that they help her stock up on all the things she may have run out of; diapers, laundry detergent, etc. We had a really cute display prepared where guests could drop off their gifts as they arrived.

How nice is it to have everyday essentials that you truly love. I have found myself looking around because I have a new phone and no case, my wallet is falling apart, and my chapstick is a tiny nub. For years now I have been wanting a nice pair of prescription sunglasses so I don’t have to wear contacts to dawn my five dollar shades. These items are high on my wish list.
1. Painted Wood iPhone Case: Love the wood and the herring bone. It would match my wood frame glasses :)
2. Beachmaster Sunglasses: Whether to get something classic or wacky is a constant debate, but I am a huge fan of these. They kinda go with every look.
3. Canvas Utility Bag: If I’m going to be honest, I probably don’t need a new purse. I’m rocking my diaper bag a majority of the time, but I love this one. Who doesn’t love a little bright orange in their life, right?
4. Hobo Robin Black Wallet: I have wanted this for a long long time, but its not cheap. Someday I will splurge.
5. Eos Lip Balm: I’ve jumped on the wagon, I love this stuff. My mint one is running out and I’m itching to try the passion fruit. Yum.

May 14, 2014: The weather in San Francisco has been incredible lately. In the 80s. Who would believe it. We have taken full advantage and have spent hours and hours outside. Grayson loves it, watching the trees and feeling the breeze. This week we joined some other mamas and little ones at the Botanical Gardens for a picnic. The gardens are beautiful! Sitting there chatting and watching Grayson interact with other people his size was definitely a highlight from the week.
