{diy} officially refurbished wicker

October 25, 2011

The mismatched set of $150 wicker furniture (with cushions) has been a work in progress for quite awhile. Gotta love craigslist. It all started with the ideas, then the paint, and finally I have finished the pillows. The end result has made me really happy. It took some convincing, but the mister finally went for [...]

{decor} pillow love

October 23, 2011

I feel like every magazine I have ever read has mentioned the ability to makeover a room by changing the accents. In a living room pillows are often a topic of discussion. The living room has been a focus of my new found desire to spruce up our home and it is definitely coming together. [...]

{diy} baby shower onesies

October 20, 2011

It was so fun to help throw a baby shower for my sister-in-law. One of the things I wanted to put together was a diy onesie station. It ended up being a big hit and I was so impressed with the adorable onsies that hung on clothes lines strung in the backyard.  As a guest [...]

The paint phase has been completed. Since being painted and prominently displayed in our shared garden the wicker has been getting a lot of use. I have noticed the paint chipping in areas that shift while people sit in it. I might need to add one more layer of paint and a thicker protective coat. [...]

Sweet, Sweet Dreams!

May 20, 2011

The mister is very well read. He reads and reads and reads. I like this about him. The only problem arises when I want to sleep and he wants to read. The bedside lamp shines too brightly to allow me to relax into sleep. So when I ran across an article, Sweet Dreams, in Better [...]

Refurbishing the Wicker

April 25, 2011

As I prepared for the summer last year, the hubby and I searched for some cheap wicker furniture to lounge in. We succeeded and found a four piece set. Coffee and books were enjoyed throughout the sunny days. Then it started to rain and this first time wicker owner left her outdoor furniture outside. After [...]

Inspired: Painted Floors

April 21, 2011

I am always mentally refurbishing my future home in my mind. I fell in love with the idea of painted floors when reading Under the Sycamore. In an effort to spruce up her bedroom, she tore out the carpet and painted the sub flooring. She shared her how-to experience here. The photos on her blog [...]
